Although the beaches in the town itself aren't good, the nearby suburb of lgmeler has a streich of .sandy beach with water sports and other activities available throughout the season. Icmeler's promenade is backed by large resort hotels, behind which are a grid of touristy shops, restaurants, villas and apartments blocks. In con hast to other areas of the lown, the suburb is neat with gtxxl roads, carefully kept communal gardens and a well-developed infrastructure

Enclosed by steep mountains, there is very little new land available for development in Marmaris, Prices look set to continue rising in the face of strong demand from both domestic and foreign buyers.

The lown centre is dominated by re-sale apartments many of which are over 5 years old. Conveniently close to the main concentration of restaurants, shopping and nightlife, basic two-bedroom apaitments in this area typically sell horn 30,0gbp(X).

The suburb of Armutalan is popular with wealthy Turkish buyers and counts the former Turkish president Kenan Evren as one of its seasonal residents.
